This is how I...

cut corn off the cob.

Been making a lot of recipes with corn lately, and nothing like fresh summer corn. But man cutting it off the cob can cause some serious hair pulling, trying to keep it from flying ALL over the kitchen.
So I simply get a large bowl flip a smaller bowl upside down in it. Place the corn on the smaller bowl and cut. No reason to have to cook two extra cobs just to make up for the kernels all over the floor!

Dollface De Ville Giveaway {Aug 16th - Aug 22nd}

Hello Lovelies. I hope all is well out there and you had a delightful weekend.
This week I am sharing a wonderful shop, I found while browsing through Etsy {you know everyones favorite pastime!} .
Dollface De Ville, is a shop filled to the brim with fun accessories.
Jen took a few moments of her time to answer questions this morning so we could get to know her just a little bit.

You seem to be a jack of all trades when it come to creating your lovely items, is you background in art formal or self taught?
I'm completely self taught, with no formal art or design education. I actually went to college pursuing emergency medicine. I only just started crocheting in the Spring of 2009, but took to it very quickly.

What goes into your creative process, any fun rituals?
When I go to make something new, I let the materials speak to me. I have a large collection of yarn just waiting to jump out and tell me what it's meant to be. That goes for my jewelry as well, I let the item come together piece by piece until it feels right.

Is that you in all your listings? If so your skin is divine, got any good skin care tips?!
I actually get asked this question a a lot. Yes, that is me in all my listings. I've mastered the art of self photography. My skin care tip for everyone who asks is "Stay out of the sun!!" I'm of Norwegian decent, so I do credit my fair complexion to that. I'm also an avid tattoo collector with over 30 hours under the needle thus far. In order to keep my art fresh and bright, I avoid the sun at all costs. When I'm forced into the daylight, I slather on the 60 SPF sunblock. Oh, and always wash your face before bed.

Jen is offering up a $25 store credit to one lucky winner!

Mom in the shot Aug 12 {Plus two DIY's}

Had a playdate today.
I had seen a blog {for the life of me can not remember where, so if you know please comment
I want to give props where it is do!}, where they had a cereal buffet.
And I loved the idea so much I totally "borrowed" it.

For the kiddies I made personalized spoons. The supplies needed:
-small letter beads
-wire {I used 26 gage}
-wire cutters
-spoons {I found teaspoons, 2 for $1 at the dollar store}

This one is super easy. Just start wrapping the spoon from the top with wire. On the back of the spoon fold down the end of the wire and wrap around it. Then add the letters, wrapping a little in between each letter. To end it on the back tuck the end up and under and pull it through at least three times and trim the excess.
They were a BIG hit. Then we ate all different kinds of cereal with tons of fruit toppings!

This one was just me taking some zippers and making rosettes with them. Hot glueing them together on some felt and adding a alligator clip. Perfect for accessorizing clothes, purses, and hair!

Last but not least, Bean and I after a long fun playdate. I am pooped.
Did you see Em's BIG announcement?! How amazing is that, pretty stinkin cool if you ask me.

Seriously, have you seen...? {Like I need another obsession!!}

I love when you come across one of those gems.
You know the kind.
Stocked filled with eye candy goodness.
The kind with lovely projects and FREE printables!

OH MY!
So I saw this post popping up randomly yesterday on FB.
But of course I did not have time to click on it.
But today I was smart enough to take the time, and I am over the moon
that I did.

I usually do not like to tell people what to do, but I am going to tell you
that you MUST run over to Volume 25 right now!

Ok I feel my good deed of the day is done.

xoxo
ENJOY!

Question...

Have you ever thought about how many times you touch
your groceries by the time they are stashed away in your panrty?

Seriously think about it
1-put them in the cart
2-put them on the checkout belt
3-bag them {if you go early in the morning like me and there is not enough baggers}
4-put them in the car
5-take them out of the car
6-put them on the counter
7-put them away

Crazy right?!
I was just randomly thinking about this today driving.

{this is my puppy, well not really a puppy anymore she just turned 9. Poor
girl, she has gone into the witness protection program now that Jellybean is crawling.
Anytime she is laying around in a deep sleep, that boy beelines right for her and scares the
bajesus out of her! But she is the sweetest to him.}

Oh one more thing.
We are planning a trip to NYC next spring.
We never been since having kids.
So now all I can think about is, "What do we do about taxi's and car seats?!"
Any answers...
