Let us take a look, what's in your pocketbook? {Guest Starring Chelsey from The Paper Mama}

It's that time again.
First friday of month means a lookie into another bloggers bag.
This month the lovely Chelsey from The Paper Mama is gracing us with her presence.
I hate to admit it but I am relatively new follower of Chelsey's, but fell fast for her.
I love her candid look into her life, even the not so fun things like her birth story or her battle with postpartum depression. And her super creative side like her hair posts {girls got some hair to envy} and her shop. She is a momma to a beautiful little almost 2 yr old Rurai.

Seriously how freakin cute is she?

Ok now on to the "bag".

- Love backpack style bags, but never have bought one. Was that a strategic move after having Ruari? What do you look for in a bag?
Yes it was. When I went searching online for my bag.... I was specifically looking for a leather bag that doubles as a purse and a backpack. BUT, I didn't want it too big. I was finding I didn't need the huge diaper bag anymore since Ruari is now a toddler... and, this bag has been lovely! I usually randomly get a new idea about a bag I'd like... then, search EVERYWHERE for it. It must be under $35 (with shipping). If I find it thrift: that's a plus! I just cannot spend much on a purse... I change it so much!

- EEP, your iphone case, WANT. Spill the beans, Momma is in the market for a new case.
I love my case... and, it seems to be pretty darn sturdy. I've dropped my phone about 10 times. ;) It's a Cath Kidston case that I found used on eBay.

- I see you carry lipgloss. What are your fav makeup items to use just on the day to day to feel pretty?
Yeah, I have my lipgloss in there... only because when I DO go out it is the thing I always forget to put on. SO, I have it with me. :) I'm more of a chapstick girl normally. The makeup I love to help me feel pretty: just some mascara. It makes a world of difference when I put on just a little mascara. :)

- You are always posting beautiful images, do you carry your camera all the time? And is it cool enough to have its one digs?
I don't always carry my camera. I'm actually trying to carry it with me less. It does get in the way and I'm trying to BE a part of the moment... instead of the photographer of the moment. :)

- Love the fact that you carry a pair of earrings, how would you describe your style?
Yes, as a mama I always forget to put earrings on! Before I had Ruari I ALWAYS wore earrings. I would feel completely naked without them. These days I barely wear them. So, like my lip gloss, I carry them with me... just in case. I don't really know how to describe my style... I'm usually attracted to 50's ish and anything coral in color. ;)

Thank you so very much Chelsey for playing along with me!

The funny thing about these posts {I know this is only number two} but I feel I could go on and on asking questions. But I know these are busy Mommas so I find myself restraining from going on and on and on and on. But truth is I am a much more into asking people questions about their lives then talking about my boring one, ha.

What we ate Wednesday. {Ice Cream in a Bag}

I am killing two birds with one stone on this post, cause I am so into that these days.
Multitasking is my middle name.
So for the price of one post you get a "what we ate" and a mark on our "summer fun list".
Good deal right?!
When I saw Christina's from 2 little hooligans post on making ice cream in a bag, I added that baby to our summer fun list right away.
Oh and if you do not follow Christina, you really should. Besides being supa nice, she is one talented Momma.

Per Christina here is what you will need:
- 1 cup 1/2 and 1/2
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup coarse salt {I bought ice cream salt at my grocery store}
- quart size ziploc
- gallon size ziploc halfway filled with ice

Mix your 1/2 & 1/2, vanilla, and sugar together. Add to the quart ziploc and seal tight.
Place it in the gallon bag with ice and salt, seal.

Set a timer for 8 minutes and start shaking your bags.
Now I did this as a play date activity.
We gave the kiddies the bags and said ok "Shake what your Momma gave ya!"

30 secs, in they were done. So the Mommas took over, wish I had a picture of us, it was very humorous. You get a good workout with this. Some of my quotes during this shake-a-thon, "promise to come over again?" "this is the longest 8 mins of my life." "do you hate me?"
But once it was done, and we rinsed off our quart size bags with cold water, we had ICE CREAM!

It was the perfect balance of vanilla and sweet. SO SO SO yummy.

The kids loved every bite. And were very proud and thankful of their Mommas and our shaking skills.

Wish I had a bowl right now. We already have a list of different flavors we want to try.

And once we hugged all her friends good bye, Buggie got to mark off her first summertime fun activity!

Now your turn, please share what you have been up to in the kitchen...

A Unicorn Bag and Summertime Fun List

Buggie is starting ballet and jazz class this week and she was in need of a bag to carry her
little ballet slippers and jazz shoes.
And since I am one of those unlucky souls thats do not own a fancy schmancy Silhouette machine I had to use the old school wax paper iron on trick.
Buggie loves her some unicorns, so when I saw My Girl Thursday's guest post on Sunshine and Carousels, I hit the free unicorn JACKPOT.

After I printed out the freebie uni. I taped down my wax paper {remember that you will iron the wax side down, so if you image has a right or wrong direction make sure you trace correctly}

Once you have traced, then you are going to take an exacto knife and cut your image. You want the relief image.

Iron you image on to your surface. I took an invisible ink pen {crafters best friend} and draw in the hair and other thing to know where to paint.

Painting is so therapeutic. I need to do it more often.

Pull you wax paper off once you paint has dried.
I added some extra details with a paint pen and put her name at the bottom.

It screams girl, purple, pink, hearts, glitter, unicorn!!

I think the exact words were "Oh Mommy it is beautiful. My dance teacher is going to be so happy with my pretty bag."
I say that is a job well done.

We did our Summer FUN List.
It BIG and the door to the garage, so we see it everyday.

I hope to have a post for every single one of these.
Do you have a summer FUN list?

Happy Tuesday!
