Mom in the shot May 12th {Date Night}

Date nights are essential to a strong loving marriage.
Even if it is a quick trip to the coffee shop for an hour.
When you are married you MUST carve out time to spend to spend just the two of you.

{Hubs and I last week on a date}

When you have kids running around your feet, interrupting your conversations, making you spell half of what you are saying to avoid little ears, and simply needing you, it can be draining and straining on a marriage. So the time you can spend enjoying each other outside of being on the couch, is very very important. I hope all married couples get to do this. Even if it is once a month. Make the time, it is SOOO worth to reconnect.

Do you date night? What's you favorite thing to do? I am always looking for new things...

Sunday nights are date night at our house. I agree that it's essential to a happy, healthy relationship! A few hours to be just husband & wife again is a great end to our busy week, and a good way to start a new one.

We bought a book of questions for couples to answer during our dates. That way we don't talk about our little munchkin or work the entire time! We also really like going to get yogurt or ice cream together.

We love going to CraVe for their happy hour and also the movies! Since we both love to shop we like doing that alone too, with no kids its so much more fun:) Sometimes we just send the kids to my Moms and stay home alone just watching movies, eating takeout & drinking wine, fun times:) See you manana!!

such great advice! One of my fav things to do is drive to Santa Barbara (about 1 hour drive) just to go to this pizza place that I loved in college. We get lots of time to talk and we both like being in the car together just driving.

we do date lunch. Almost every Thursday my husband takes me out to lunch. He has the day off, kiddo in school and we go on my lunch break. :)
Cute photo!

I agree, it is soooo important! I am a co-leader for a parents group and during a discussion one of the moms said, "Right now, I'm here for my children. My husband and I will have time together when they are grown." I wanted to throw something at her. If you don't foster your marriage, when the kids are grown and gone, what will keep you together?

You and your hubby are a fabulous looking couple! And honestly, we just like to go anywhere we don't want to take the kids (like out for coffee or chinese ~ our kids hate chinese food)

I absolutely agree. We have date night once a week, and I think having that alone time is essential to keeping our marriage/friendship strong. And I personally feel it's our duty as parents to show our kids what a happy healthy relationship is like. :)

We were just talking about this tonight. We aren't finding time to just be the two of us much these days. I know having a new baby makes this even more challenging, but I don't want to end up feeling like roommates taking care of three kids. Our kids need to see our dedication to each other and know how important it is for Mommy and Daddy to connect. Our stability is their stability. Good reminder!
