BOOing, snail mail style.

We are HUGE fans in this house of Booing our neighbors.
Its turned into such a fun tradition, that we are have been the family to start it each year.
The other day I was making some fun tissue tassels, and thought I knew a few friends that would find them a fun little halloween treat.  So why not BOO! through snail mail?!
I put together this little card to include in my package...

For the tassels I used this tutorial, I bought tissue paper at Party City for .99 a package, and with only using a sheet per tassel it was a SUPER cost effect project.  Then I wrapped it up with enough yarn for them to be hung and included some stars for added bling.

Here is what I did with mine...

I excited to see the snail mail BOOing take off and other join in the fun.  Please share if you do send something off, I would love to see it!
Happy Halloween Month.

Pro meal planning.

Meal planning it essential on many levels for me.
Lets break it down the top three, shall we.

{this weeks meals}

1. Save dolla dolla bills - Sundays is my normal shopping day. When its time to make my grocery list, I start with our meals for the week. Then I make my list. This ensures, that I will not over buy and can over lap ingredients if I can. And one trip a week is much cheaper then going several times a week for meals.
2. Get our health on - When meal planning its much easier to include fresh veggies and try healthier recipes. And avoid boxed processed foods, like Tuesday Turkey Sloppy Joes, those bad boys are from scratch. Plan on seeing them here Wednesday.
3. Keep my sanity - Like I said above, Sunday is our normal food shopping day. Which means ONE day a week I need to ask myself "what's it going to be for dinner?" and it also gives the family the opportunity to make requests. Every morning I take out anything that may need defrosting and thats it. No standing in front of the pantry at 4:30 pm frantically trying to figure out what to make.

Did I sell you on meal planning?!
Will some free pretty printables help seal the deal?!
Check these out.

Ok now get to meal planner people, its for the better!

Halloween garland with a side of bats.

Yesterday I did a little more Halloween decorating,
you do realize that Oct 1 is NEXT weekend, right?

I made a fabric garland with scraps I had laying around.

I would show you step by step of this, but lets be honest me showing you how to cut strips of fabric and tie it to a piece of yarn does not constitute a tutorial. Just remember you are going to need more fabric strips then you think.

The other thing I did was download these bats. Trace them on some card stock and stick them on the wall, again not much in the form of a tute.

I love looking back and seeing what the kiddies looked like last year at Halloween.

It was a super easy, watch TV while you tie DIY. With what I think is a fun impact to our enterway.

Bubble Gum Flowers DIY {plus an Easter FREEBIE!}

I am knee deep in 5th birthday party prep for Buggie right now.
5 years old, crazy how fast the time has flown by.
So we have had this little rule, no gum until you are 5.
I know kinda of silly but at some point I had picked the age and we stuck with it.
Now it is this HUGE right of passage that she is so STOKED about.
{sidenote: thinking of uping it to 20 for her brother, just sayin the kid's an animal}
Without giving away too much about her party I made these the other day and could not resist sharing.

What you will need:
- Gum {I bought the old school gum ball machine size tub and then some larger individual ones from Party City}
- Balloon stems with cups {which I now have 115 leftover, so if want some just holla, or Buggie will have these at every event for the next 10 yrs.}
- Clingwrap
- Twine or twistie ties.
- Small bowl
- Scissors

- Place some cling wrap in the bowl and then add a large gumball and 7 small ones.

- Take your stem and place in the center and then bring up the cling wrap tight around the gum.

- Lotion hands daily, oops thats a reminder for me after seeing this picture, EEK.

- Tie the up tight, cut the excess cling wrap off, and there you have gumball flowers!

They are so stinkin cute. Like for real, gumballs make me smile anyways but to see them like this just makes me plain ole happy.

Speaking of happy.
I got an email the other day from Shivani of My Owl Barn, the place for
all things owl.
She had teamed up with Jinjerup to create this ADORABLE Owl Easter Goodie Bag and bookmarks.

Super cute right?!
Well guess what its FREE!!!
Hop on over to My Owl Barn, and download yours today.
And give her a little hoot, cause everyone loves a hoot.

Happy weekend y'all!

Stocked filled with eye candy goodness.
The kind with lovely projects and FREE printables!

OH MY!
So I saw this post popping up randomly yesterday on FB.
But of course I did not have time to click on it.
But today I was smart enough to take the time, and I am over the moon
that I did.

I usually do not like to tell people what to do, but I am going to tell you
that you MUST run over to Volume 25 right now!

Ok I feel my good deed of the day is done.

Peep this...

Thanks to Julie's post, I found the cuteness blog.
Eighteen 25 is a wonderful dose of eye candy coming out of three Las Vegas based sisters.
They made this beyond adorable FREE bag topper.

Buggie is going to hand out all this cuteness to all our neighbor friends...

Total cost: $5 {peeps and bags}

Check out Eighteen 25, they have some great ideas and I just know there is A LOT more to come from these three!
