Bean got to go to Target and pick out some snazzy new undies {buzz and uddy were his choice}.
Get off the phone with the asylum, NO I am not potty training at 18mnths.
Poor little dude has some major diaper rash.
The Doc called for a little airing out, so on with the Buzz undies and outside we went.
I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that I did not need to hose off the back porch after playing outside for a good 30 mins.
Poor baby, hope his little bum is better soon.
Suggestions are welcome.
my daughter had chronic diaper rash until we started using burt's bees diaper ointment. hope this helps! : )

Hair dryer! After a bath use a hair dryer to dry his little bum on the low heat setting and not too close.
Also, let him run around necked outside of course.
there is nothing cuter then little ones in undees! we love bag balm...used origonally for cow utters, but it works great up here. I also love triple ease paste, its pricey but well worth it:) good luck
ReplyDeletei've got four kids, two in diapers, one a recent "graduate". someone ALWAYS has diaper rash around here. i will lather on a generous dose of whatever white diaper cream i have laying around (desitin, balmex) and then coat that with a generous amount of A&D. and i would do this every diaper change until it was gone. i would see improvement within a day or two. works like a charm...A&D is my solution to everything. oatmeal baths to soak in can help, too. good luck!
ReplyDeleteWe've used Triple Paste when it gets really bad. Otherwise, cloth diapering reduces rash a lot more than people realize. Not sure what type diapers you use for him, but if disposable works better then maybe try 7th Gen or gDiapers. If you do go to 7th Gen then you may want to go up a size as they do run a tinsy bit smaller than Pampers and Huggies.

Keep in mind I am no pro, my son (only son) is 17 months so I still consider myself a rookie. At my shower (forever ago) my sister in law gave me a basket of her favorites, or rather her must haves. One of the things was Resinol. While my son has never had bad diaper rashes this does clear it up whenever he does get it. I put it on after his bath and most of the times it's cleared up completely by morning. Shortly after my shower my neighbor told me she loved it with her kids as well. She also suggested using it under his neck when he was little and it would get red, cleared it up over night.
ReplyDeleteI've been told you have to ask the pharmacist for it, that it's behind the counter. On the jar it says "Medicated Ointment For fast soothing relief of Minor Skin Irritations"
Whatever you do I hope it clears up soon, poor little guy!!!
If you want something natural...coconut oil worked for me. Granted it was for my girl but I swear by it! Started working basically the minute it went on. :) good luck!

ReplyDeletewe use the arbonne diaper rash cream and there is something magical in there...diaper rashes gone in a day. bam.
ReplyDeleteTry to do a bath with a little baking soda in the water and then air dry the bum after. It usually helps clear up any bum rash for us ;)
ReplyDeleteoh we've been there! we use the hair dryer too, thats what our dr recommended!! :) I just do it after bath and dry her hair too..she loves it now!!
