My house is speaking to me.

Its saying, buy a douglas fur and stick it riiiighhhht here.
Dig out that bin marked Christmas from the garage.
You know the one at the VERY bottom of that huge stack of CRAZY
heavy plastic bins.
Oh and do not forget to hang the stockings with some stairway cheer.
But thats not all its saying.
Cause I am super creatively awesome {wink, wink}, I came up with a
fun way to use holiday words to decorate.

Here is what you need:
- Felt {both soft and stiff at least one sheet of each for each word}
- Scissors
- Printed Words
- Glue {fabric or felt glue}
- Pen

step 1:
print your words out. I used honey script, I love the retro feel of it. I printed them in word
at 400.

step 2:
cut your words out, snipping the letters you need to cut the center out of.

step 3:
trace the letters upside down on the soft felt.

step 4: cut the letters out, snipping the letters to cut the centers out.

step 5:
place a small bead of glue on the letters you had to cut the centers out of and glue them back together.

step 6:
glue the words onto the stiff felt. and cut around them leaving just a glimpse of the background felt showing.

Now you have the perfect accent to add your decorating.
Here is how our house spells Christmas...

I have some more cut to stick in the tree. And other finishing touches to add, you know once that bin makes a magical appearance.
Tis the season for decorating.
I would love to see what you have going on, link up!

And this begins what I call..

the festival of food.
Back when I was preggers with Buggie {and having just gotten over severe all day sickness},
I declared Turkey day the start to what I consider the best eating
a girl can ask for in the next two months.
Let me break it down for you:
Thanksgiving {consisting of TWO turkey full spread meals}
Thanksgiving Day leftovers ie Turkeysandies {which may or may not last us through Sunday}
Chanukah Dinner
Some in between holiday parties
Christmas Eve dinner {my FAVORITE}
Christmas Morning breakfast
Christmas Day lunch {which my Dad makes Cuban sandwiches with the leftover
cuban pork dinner}
Then finishing to this wondrous festival is
New Years Day lunch.
Man I need to starting looking into the newest diet fads asap.

Taking a little blogging break for the long weekend.
See you all back on Monday with some fun treats!

So thankful for all of you!
XO
Amy

Sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

a tale of fateful date.
That started in a tiny cubicle,
with many glimpses from across the way.

The boy was a hot boss man,
The girl sure was swell.
The two went on a date that day,
with a buffer friend in tow, with a buffer friend in tow.

The girl was sure in luck,
as gold she was sure she had struck.
If not for that fateful date, she knows she
would not have love, would not have love.

Corny I know.
Today we celebrate 8 years of blissful marriage.
We both laugh at blissful, cause it is as corny as my lame attempt at lyrics above.
We have our moments, sometimes more then we would want.
But we get through them.
We do not feel the need to make work, but the want.
I really believe that mutual desire is what makes our marriage.

Dinner and a movie are planned.
No gifts needed.
Just each other.
Man I am super corny.
I think the only way I could top my corn ball salad would be with a
I Jeff
t-shirt.

XOXO
Have a happy day.

Doily Basket DIY {the perfect/cheapest hostess gift, promise}

Got your party heels ready and little black dress back from the cleaners?
But do you have a hostess gift or better yet one you can make for under $5?
No?
Then this DIY is for sista.

What you will need:
- Stitched Doily {not paper} I got mine from Joann's, their large
ones are $3.99 and used one of 40% off coupons.
- Fabric Stiffener, you can find this in the glue section at Joann's.
Again used a 40% coupon. {Just incase you did not know but they take competitors coupons}
- Bowl {large enough for your doily to lay over and not hit the table}
- Cling Wrap
- Gallon Size Zip Loc Bag

Step 1: Pick your bowls. {note I did dye my doilies not necessary}

Step 2: Wrap them in cling wrap and put some extra down on your crafting surface.

Step 3:
Put a doily in the zip loc baggie. Squeeze in a generous amount of fabric stiffener {enough to saturate the doily}. Squeeze the bag and get the doily coated completely.

Step 4:
Remove from the baggie and lay over the bowl. Let dry over night. After about the first two hours I lifted it up a bit so it would not stick to the cling wrap.

Pretty easy and the results are beautiful.

Hope you enjoy. Let me know if you make them!
Now go get your craft on!
